Correct setup of GoCardless direct debit?

Hi folks,

Has anyone had success using the GoCardless direct debit extension (http://www.vedaconsulting.co.uk/gocardless) provided by Veda?

I have installed it into a CiviCRM 4.4.11 installation and have a contribution page with recurring contribution passing through to the GoCardless-hosted sandbox page for processing the direct debit.

Completing the form on GoCardless returns to our CiviCRM site completion page, with a contact record created and contribute record in pending status. In the GoCardless sandbox account there is no record of the customer or payment..

I'm looking to implement this on at least one client site - assuming it works of course - so very keen also to learn of any successful live implementations, and any tricks and tips.
