CiviCRM / WordPress on Amazon Web Services Infrastructure
January 12, 2015, 01:59:46 pm
Hello,

I've worked over the past several months to implement CiviCRM / WordPress on the Google App Engine cloud infrastructure.  Unfortunately, that has not been a successful effort.  There are key elements of the infrastructure still missing / not working (PHP-cURL among them), though promised "real soon now"...

So, effective this week, I've stopped working that effort and am now engaged in setting up WordPress / CiviCRM on Amazon Web Services.  If anyone out there has been down this path; I'd welcome the chance to compare notes.  I am documenting my steps as I go and plan to place a post on the Wiki that outlines the process (and any pitfalls I discover along the way).

TIA for feedback / comments / advice.

Regards,

DVH

Don, thanks for the link.  I looked into Bitnami, then decided to go the RYO route.  I am now up and running, will post an article to an appropriate spot (Wiki page?) at some point in the next month.  It took longer than it might have with Bitnami, but the implementation seems to be working OK, and I learned a bunch in the process.

Thanks, again; CiviCRM is an excellent app, and the strong support infrastructure is in large part the foundation on which it is built.
