I would like to be able to apply a single transaction in CiviContribute across multiple funds (financial types) from one data entry screen.

Scenario: A donor/constituent wants to give online to multiple funds - maybe to an Education Fund, a Building Fund, and also make a Membership renewal or pay a fee for an Event. They make one deposit (or check payment) but the total amount on that single payment needs to be divided between three or more funds (financial types) based on the donor's wishes.

I know this has been raised in the past, but I am just wondering if any progress has been made on this feature with CiviContribute.

You could use a price set for this. Each price option can have a different financial type. The customer would be free to choose how much went where.
