"Open Case" Activity Not Showing up in Activity Report
January 14, 2015, 12:00:29 pm
Hello.

The "Open Case" activity does not show in Activities Reports.  Is this by design?  Is there a way to have it show up?

Thanks!

None of the activities that are set up for Cases will show up in the Activity reports. There are Case Reports you can use? Have you tried those?

That doesn't seem right.  I can run Activities reports and get any activities that were recorded in a case *except* for "Open Case" or other activities that I've created and set the component to "Cases Only".

I think that the activity type "Component" must be set to "Contacts and Cases" rather than just "Cases Only" if you want it to show up in activity reports.  At least that is what I have observed.

The reason I'm running Activities reports instead of Case reports is because I can include custom activities fields and even filter by them.  This is import for our use case in which we need to be able to report by cost center (a custom field).
