We need a membership signup, but the customer wants the members to pay via cash or check. So I created a contribution page with the membership section enabled and the execute real-time transactions is not checked. It seems to work fine, I get a pending contribution, but it does not add the membership to the membership tab. It only shows a pending contribution. I need the membership tab to be updated as well. Is there something I can do to get the membership to update upon form submission?

hi - the membership tab won't show the membership until the payment has been made

i don't know of an easy fix or workaround. you can easily find 'pending' memberships via Find Members - may help you out.

If I mark the status as paid should it not update the membership? I did that and it still did not update. I also ran the update pending membership job and that did not work either:(

sorry i put you wrong - if the payment is PENDING then yes the Membership is on the Membership Tab - but the Tab still shows a zero 0 as it is Pending/Inactive

if you then set the $$ to COMPLETED then it will change to an active membership.

if you don't have anything on your membership tab that suggest that your contribution page is not set up properly for memberships - which seems unllkely but perhaps worth comparing with eg http://d45.demo.civicrm.org/civicrm/contribute/transact?reset=1&id=2
