Remove unsubscribe confirmation

Hello!

We're using the default CiviCRM unsubscribe process and it's pretty scary from a usability perspective so I'm wondering if we can remove the confirmation step.

Currently when a user clicks the unsubscribe link in a mailing they're sent to a page that includes a redacted email address and they're prompted to re-enter their email address and then click unsubscribe (again!).

I hope that best practice these days is immediately unsubscribing a person when they click a link in their email (like MailChimp and others do). When someone clicks unsubscribe they're already unhappy and asking them to type their email address and click unsubscribe again is only going to make them even unhappier - I know it does for me!

Is there a setting to disable this confirmation step?

This double unsubscribe process is fairly new and was implemented in response to unsubscribes of original recipients by recipients of forwarded emails. http://forum.civicrm.org/index.php/topic,31922 and https://issues.civicrm.org/jira/browse/CRM-11302

I also do not like it and would be very happy if the confirmation step could be disabled.

At the moment AFAIK it can't be.  It would be a great improvement in my opinion, but I have neither the skills nor money to have it implemented.
