Signing a petition - email confirmation - status: why terminated instead of closed?
January 15, 2015, 10:26:30 am
Hi everyone.

When somebody signs a petition - the person has to confirm this via an email-link.
The link leads to a wordpress site, confirming everything.

Link: http://www.gemeingut.org/civi-public/?page=CiviCRM&q=civicrm/petition/confirm&reset=1&cid=10989&sid=7860&h=3018b6b713b77bb2&a=19136&p=12

This is my problem:

If I control the signature in campaign/petition - it has the status terminated instead of closed.
What do I need to change to have the status set to "closed" automatically when somebody confirms the link?

Best wishes, Michael

To clarify, where do you look at the signature? is this in the activity log of the contact?

They are two status for a signature, either waiting for the confirmation or confirmed (post link click). We wanted to re-use existing civicrm activity statues, not sure if what we choose is the most clear indeed. Don't recall why we chose "closed" instead of "terminated", both mean the same "it's ok, confirmed the signature".

Not sure how we could change the status without potentially confusing even more users than you and your org. Would my explanation that "terminated"="closed" and closed is never used good enough as a workaround?

Thanks Xavier, that´s good news.

To answer your question (see attachments)

But I think you´ve answered it! And we should be comfortable with "terminated"

Merci!
