Records Removed from Batch Entry when click Validate and Process

We are just starting to use Civicrm 4.5.5 with Wordpress with a new non-profit. When entering donation through the Batch Data Entry process, when we go to Validate and Process The Batch a message is received that says it is not in balance. The summary box at the top shows that it is.  If we click ignore and move forward then we lose several of the last donations entered but not all. I have noticed that this happens only in large batches. Is there a limit to the number of donation that can be put into one batch.  Most of the batches being processed have 75 to 100 donations each.
1-17-15 As an update, we processed donations all day in small batches, under 50 lines, and we did not have this problem.
