Scheduled Reminders for memberships not all being sent

I am hoping some of you can point me to places where I can troubleshoot my issue. I don't think it is a bug, otherwise other people would be complaining. Any pointers will be greatly appreciated.

I have scheduled reminders set up for the members of my organization to renew their memberships. All memberships expire Dec. 31 so everyone is on the same schedule for the reminders.

The issue is that only some of the reminders get sent on the appointed day. Maybe something like 85-100 but that's it. The rest never go out.

What could cause only some of the reminders to go out? The cron jobs are running and some reminders do get sent, but not all of them. Scheduled reminders worked properly in late 2013, early 2014. But since Nov. 2014, I have had this issue.

It may or may not be related, but scheduled mailings no longer work at all. After their scheduled departure, the list of mailings just says "Running" beside the job. Nothing goes out. I have to execute it manually from the Scheduled Jobs page, then the mailing goes out as expected to all recipients.

Please give details of your settings for the renewal reminder.

From what you have described it sounds like it is not set to repeat.  If so, then people who got one last year won't get one this year.

Thanks Joanne. That's right. None of the reminders are set to repeat. Each of them is different since it mentions how much time remains in the membership and increases the strength of the reminder, etc.

Now, you could be right. This could be that bug where people who got the reminder in a previous year don't get it this year. But, I think some of these are new reminders that I just created for this renewal season, so wouldn't those have gone out to everyone who needed them? I could be wrong on this, so I will do some more testing.

From reading topic 35024 it sounds like I should definitely not select the repeat option. And from your comments there (or was it on another post), my best bet is to just delete all the reminders each year and create new ones until CiviCRM's behavior is changed.
