Front end renewing of cancelled membership

Hi,

(not sure if this is the right forum).


When renewing a cancelled membership from the front end, we've noticed it's treating the cancelled membership as if it's current. In that it grabs the cancelled membership, makes it current, and extends the end date out.

Shouldn't this be treated like and expired sub, and create a new order line?

For example, a member has a membership for Jan 2011 to Jan 2012 that was cancelled in Jan 2011. Then in 2014 they decide to purchase another membership, and get a receipt stating their end date is Jan 2012.

This doesn't seem like expected behavior to me. Any thoughts?
