Batch Data Entry - membership renewal issues
January 29, 2015, 06:57:50 am
We have just upgraded from 4.2.7 to 4.5.5.

I have noticed that when I use the batch data entry for membership, it is not possible to renew membership. Although existing members are auto-inserted once you begin to type the name, the only option available is 'add new member'.

Interestingly, this issue is replicated on the 4.5 demo site. It was not an issue for us in version 4.2.7.

Any answers? ... or I guess this is a bug.

Just added: I've just check version 4.6 alpha in the sandbox and the issues is still there.

I have noticed that the upgrade from 4.5.5 to 4.5.6 has not resolved the issue that I mentioned in this post.

The problem stops bulk entry of membership contributions and membership updates and so is a serious problem for those having to update membership records on a regular basis.

Has anyone else experienced this and found a solution?

Thanks

Dave Smith

This sounds like a regression, so it should probably be escalated to the bug tracker at issues.civicrm.org.  Be sure to post the steps needed to replicate the problem on the demo server, and reference this forum thread and the fact that it worked in 4.2.7.
