Anyone else still having problems with membership transfer over relationships?

I filed CRM-15889 on Friday, as we're looking to upgrade to 4.4.11, but it looks like membership transfer over relationships from the API is still broken (despite the closure of CRM-13652 in 4.4.7). Is anyone else experiencing problems with this?

In particular:
  • If the relationship is enabled/disabled using the API, the related membership is unchanged.
  • If the relationship is enabled/disabled through the interface, the related membership is added/removed correctly.
  • If I disable the relationship through the API, then re-enable the relationship through the interface, the related contact gets 2 memberships.
  • It's the same whether I use the create or setvalue API on the relationship.
  • If I create a new but inactive ('is_active' => FALSE) relationship using the API, the membership will still propagate over it.
  • On 4.5 demo it's even broken when enabling/disabling the relationship using the interface.
