Can I clear civicrm_uf_match?

Can I clear the rows from table civicrm_uf_match without harm?

I'm getting and "already exists" error when attempting to match users to contacts.  I did have some duplicate email addresses.  Now I'm still getting the error, even though the offending email is only assigned to one user and one contact.  I'd like to clear the table and try the "Match Users to Contacts" process with a clean slate...

I would suggest taking a backup of civicrm_uf_match table and then clear it.

IMO, there won't be any problem clearing this table.
