Hello all,

I think this issue has been around for a while, I see similar posts from late 2014.  When I log in with a new ID, the initial display of the home page does not complete (the whirly is spinning for a long... time -- many minutes) until I navigate to another page.  Then, when I come back to the home page, I see the news and life is good.  A look at the error log shows:

I've seen this problem as well but had not tracked down the specific flow to create it. Are you saying this happens the first time you log in with as a user who hasn't accessed the CiviCRM home page previously? Would be great if you can nail down the exact trigger so we can recreate reliabely - and then post on the issue tracker.

Dave,

I have seen this on two newly enabled user start-ups.  I wasn't looking closely for this behavior when it happened, but I will set up a test run and post in the issues log when I have more insight.  Thanks for the suggestion.

30 minutes later -- issue is posted (https://issues.civicrm.org/jira/browse/CRM-15936), but I don't see a way to edit the posted issue descriptive text.  That would be handy for a newby like me who doesn't get a post right the first time around.  Suggestions welcome.

Don - Thanks again for the details, hopefully we'll be able to nail down and fix. Your comment about editing your issue report got me to look AGAIN at the Issue Tracker permission schemes to see how to open that up. I "think" I've got it set. Can you try again to edit your post please (and ideally confirm that you can NOT edit issues where the Reporter is someone else). :-)
