How would one go about upgrading from 4.5.5 to 4.5.6?

Did that, and arrived at the same place you sent me, instructions upgrading TO 4.5.
I am already using 4.5.5 and want to upgrade to 4.5.6

There's no real difference, the same steps apply.
I will say that those steps are very detailed and feel like overkill to me. When I upgrade I usually just replace the code, run the upgrade script, and done. (although taking a backup beforehand is really not a bad idea - but hopefully you take regular backups of your site anyway).
