I have a list of organizations and in the top there is a "page navigation box". It is big and not good looking. How can I change the look of thee box? I have tried to find the css file to do so but no luck.

You need to give me a little more information before I can possibly help you:
  • is this a core CiviCRm page or a customized one? And if so, did you create an extension?
  • what CMS are you using?
  • what version of CiviCRM are you using?

And changing stuff in the core css files is probably not a good idea  ;)

I have a list in several pages. To navigate from page to page I can use the select box. I just think the box is to big. i want to edit the css for this box but can't find it.

I use Joomla 3.3.6 and currently CiviCRM 4.5.0

Hmmm that is not my cup of tea Rudy, too much of a plain developer I am afraid. But I would guess you would be better of changing it with jQuery rather than changing the css. If you want to change css stuff, this might help you:
