Possible bug when changing participant status in bulk
February 09, 2015, 08:31:33 am
My client has just held a successful conference. They went into CiviCRM to update the participant status of all the people involved.

Having firstly identified and edited all the no-shows, cancellations, etc, they were left with the registered contacts. They got a listing of all of these by finding the participant records for the given event with the given status, and used the 'Change Participant Status' action from the drop-down Actions menu, having selected all the records they wanted to change.
The status was duly changed.

However at the same time Civi re-sent all of the emails (a registration confirmation email that went out to the participant and three or four staff members, plus two other emails fired from profile submissions for two profiles that are used on the event registration form that went to two or three staff members). It was as if the entire registration form had been re-entered.

As you can imagine this was most disconcerting for the client - I think this was the first time they have done this type of post event update which is why we've not spotted it before now. Also, we've only recently updated to 4.5.5, so perhaps this is an issue specific to that version.

They are currently running Drupal 6.

Anyone else spotted this type of behaviour? clearly it is very much undesirable, and we are now awaiting a flood of confused emails from event delegates.
