Hi Folks,

Are scheduled reminder emails meant to show up in a contacts activity listing?

When you create the scheduled reminder there is a tick box Record activity for automated email . 

If you tick it they should (and on our 4.4.11 site they certainly do); if you don't tick it they won't.

Thanks Joanne,

We are using 4.5.2 and we are not seeing the reminders in the activity list, despite having all the boxes ticked. Can anyone confirm that it does work on 4.5.2 before I dig deeper? All other activities seem to be posted as expected just not scheduled reminders.

It's a bit of a setup hassle BUT - would be helpful if you could set up a test of this on the public 4.5 demo.

Will this warning message on the demo affect the results?

Outbound Email Settings
Warning: Outbound email is disabled in system settings. Proper settings should be enabled on production servers.

Phil - Unfortunately the demo got reset before I could check it out. I did 2 tests on my local 4.5.6 sandbox - one with a Membership related reminder; one with an Event reminder. In both cases I did get an activity created for the applicable contacts. I think you'll need to some more debugging on your site (and perhaps upgrade to 4.5.6).

Thanks Dave - much appreciated.

Our developers have now got this working as expected.

One last question if I may - I assume you can use checksum fields in the renewals to take people straight to a payments form? I think they may have removed them in our setup so maybe that was the issue.

I haven't tested checksums in scheduled reminder emails, but I think that should work.
