(FIXED) Paid Event Registration - Register Multiple Particpants NOT Working

Using the event registration for a paid event and selecting the option to allow multiple participants to register at the same time does not work completely.  The "Registration" screen and "Confirmation" screen work fine for the multiple participants.  The process does not complete with the 'Thank You" screen and the "Confirmation Email" does not get created.  However, the participants are properly registered for the event and the payment is properly processed with the Payment Processor.

We are using CiviCRM 4.5.3 on Word Press and using Click & Pledge as payment processor.

I am not a techie, so my help will be virtually non-existent. 

However, the thing that jumped out at me is that you are on 4.5.3  The point increments in the 4.5 series are security updates (4.5.5) and fixes for bugs/regressions. 

I think you should upgrade to 4.5.6 (the most recent at the time of this post) and see if the problem still exists.

Thanks for the suggestion on upgrading to latest release 4.5.6.  I completed that with no issues but continue to have problems with the registering multiple event participants.

I went to the CiviCRM Demo site and to see how the process is to work.  I noticed that the Event Setup screen for online registrations is different than the screen on my installation and it is the same release of CiviCRM 4.5.6.  On the demo site in the "Registration Screen" area you can select the profiles for single and multiple (additional) registrations with by selecting the profile name from a list of available profile.

On my installation in the "Registration Screen" area I have no option to select a profile for the initial registrant.  I had to figure out that it defaults to profile ID=12 which is "Your Registration Info"  I cannot change this and needed to change that profile with some additional fields.  The profile for the additional registrations is a blank field and I must enter a profile ID.

Attached is a screen print from both the demo site and my site.

There is something different between my installation and the demo site.  They are both CiviCRM 4.5.6.

The System Settings - Misc (Undelete, PDFs, Limits, Logging, Captcha, etc.) had two (2) parameters different between my configuration and the Demo Site.

1) Logging was "YES" on my site
2) Attached PDF to Receipts was "YES" on my site

I changed both these parameters to "NO" and the processing of multiple registrations completed correctly.  I will further test to determine which parameter was causing the problem, but I suspect it was the Logging parameter.  I had a problem 4 months ago when I was investing using CiviCRM and it was determined the logging was creating the problem.

I vote PDF was the problem.  Generating a PDF quickly is very resource intensive, for multiple registrations even more so.  I recommend avoiding use of the PDF receipt feature entirely.  I've seen it crash a lot of sites.
