Using IMCE in Event Information
February 17, 2015, 10:05:08 am
Update on below: I should have been saying KC finder, not CK finder. I think I saw that KCFinder is obsolete. I also found that it is also CiviMail as well as CiviEvents (and presumably all Civi modules) that use KCFinder. Basic problem remains. New inlay on the gnashed tooth cost $600.

After much tearing of hair and gnashing of teeth, I've gotten IMCE to work as my browser for composing most Drupal content, BUT, when I try to add an image to a CiviEvent listing and click on Browse Server in the Image Properties box, I get taken to CKFinder and the image folder it likes. I can disable (REM out) CKFinder in the CiviCRM Packages folder, but then I just get an error message.
I have changed the File Browser Type setting in Drupal|Configuration|ContentAuthoring|CKEditor profiles (which is why, I believe, I can use IMCE for regular content editing. But it doesn't work in Events.
Is there some Event-specific configuration page/file that I haven't been able to find? Any other way to fix this?
I'm trying to make this site as user-friendly/admin-lazy as possible and IMCE has a much better file browser (thumbnails, etc.) than CKFinder.
Any help much appreciated.

This is going to take you a lot of custom work to get Civi to use IMCE like you want.  Civi does CKfinder it its own way and is not truly a Drupal module.  My friendly yet blunt advice is to give up and spend your hours elsewhere.
Try CiviTeacher: the online video tutorial CiviCRM learning library.

Thanks. I guess I will try to teach Drupal to look at the Civi image directory. My "client" wants to use Word Press anyway, so that is another can of configuration worms to look forward to. Thanks for the advice.
