(FIXED) Cannot create report from templates

I cannot create a new report from a template.  When I access the function "Create New Report from Template", I see all the report templates.  I can select a template and make initial selection criteria.  However, there is no "Report Setting" area that has the button to was the actual report.

The only way I can make a new report is to run an existing report and then save it under another name.  This is OK for existing reports, but I need to create some reports based on other templates.

I and on CiviCRM 4.5.6 (just upgraded to solve another issue) and Word Press.  I also added and extension called "Extended Reports" to get some report templates that I need for reporting event line items based on price sets.

There have been scattered reports of that extension causing trouble - can you try disabling it temporarily to see if that affects your problem?

I have disabled and uninstalled the Extended Reports extension and still have the problem.

I disabled the extension "Extended Reports" and it did fix the problem.  I can create a report from a template.

I am new to CiviCRM and open source in general.  I am very familiar with application software but not a developer.  I getting familiar with the community and very impressed.  Thanks for your help.

Can you point me to some instructions on how to create a report template so I can make some additional reports myself?

If you're not a developer then creating a new report template will be challenging, but for documentation try: http://wiki.civicrm.org/confluence/display/CRMDOC/Create+a+Report-Template+Extension

Note that civix is fairly new.  Some of the older documentation about report creation pre-dates civix.

Thanks.  I will probably be able to get through it, but might have a question or two.  I did a lot of programming back in the 1980s and early 1990s.  Later on I ran a software implementation company.  We had a division that implemented CRMs and we worked with most of the primary CRM software companies.  I am retired and have become interested in the open source world.  I am impressed with CiviCRM and I know several non-profits that could greatly benefit from the tool.
