Data update issues
February 20, 2015, 02:28:58 am
Hello

I'm new on CiviCRM so this question may seem weird for you but here's my problem.

I have 2 different issues about updates in my database, but which seem to have a common point.

1) Some memberships status don't update. When 2015 began, many of my contacts memberships should have been update from "current" to "expired". I figured different solutions :
- some of them were disabled memberships types
- for some of them the "status override" box was checked
But I have many cases with no explanation, as the box wasn't checked and the memberships types were enabled.
I tried to run the cron job manually many times but no difference for these contacts.
What's really weird is that the majority of my contacts actually update by themselves, it concerns only of small part of them.

2) I created a custom field for my contacts with check boxes. I asked them to be checked by default for every contact :
- for many contacts the field has been correctly created and all boxes checked
- for many contacts the field exist, but none of the boxes is checked AND those contacts do not appear in the smart group I created to see people who have these fields checked
Plus, since I created this field, every new contact which is created by the user (not the admin) has this field but none of the boxes checked. So I have to update them manually regularly.

The common point between these 2 problems is that when I edit the contact, and then save it without changing anything in the record, the update is effective.

Can anyone help me to understand what's going on please ?

Thank you very much
