Follow-up reminders not working
February 24, 2015, 08:31:07 am
Hi everyone,

When I'm in the Change Case Status modal, I want to set up a follow-up, but apparently is not working (I don't get any reminder).

Is there something I need to configure somewhere?

Thanks!

You need to set up scheduled reminders (civicrm/admin/scheduleReminders?reset=1) and then also set up cron (http://wiki.civicrm.org/confluence/display/CRMDOC/Managing+Scheduled+Jobs)

Another alternative if access control doesn't need to be too picky, is to use the ical feed and put them in your calendar, then set reminders as desired there, but I can't remember off the top of my head where the ical feed is.

Thanks for the response. T

he thing is even if I fire the scheduled reminder manually, it doesn't work. ¿What else could it be?

And also, I'm not talking about the reminders here: civicrm/admin/scheduleReminders?reset=1...

I'm talking about the one you can schedule when you change an activity status and at the bottom you can schedule a follow-up. I set up a cron and everything but is not working.

The word schedule is maybe misleading on the form. It should just say "create" followup. If you want scheduled reminders you have to also set up the criteria at civicrm/admin/scheduleReminders?reset=1. The cron job uses those criteria to decide which activities to run on.

Sorry because I'm using CiviCRM in spanish, but that's the follow-up I'm talking about.

The idea is that I could select one activity, date and time and I should get a follow up right?

No the spanish translation is probably an accurate translation of the english. I'm saying the english wording can be misleading. You need to additionally set up scheduled reminders with a criteria, such as all activities of type followup, if you want to receive reminders. See here:
