London, UK - Microcharity seeks CiviCRM work quotation
February 25, 2015, 05:03:41 am
Thank you for your interest in this post.

We're looking for a quote for the following work to be undertaken at our offices in Holborn, London, UK
  • Validation of the CiviCRM installation and setup
  • Installation of Direct Debit extensions
  • Simplification of the CiviCRM GUI to needs of staff (there may be some Drupal roles/permissions work involved in that)
  • Importing of our stationary style into CiviCRM's Templates
Our Drupal-CiviCRM project has been on ice for a couple of years now. We’ve had a change of management here, and things have started to move again. We’re a micro-charity, with around 2,000 members. We currently run an Access database for our membership – everything is manual. Payments by credit/debit card come via PayPal, or over the phone (and then processed through WorldPay). We also receive Direct Debits, some direct bank transfers, and lots of cheques in the post!

It’s probably just a couple of days work, but there is scope for additional work (tying in CiviCRM with SagePay & Drupal Commerce). I would be very grateful for your best offer - please email george [at] lms [dot] org [dot] uk

Thanks again!  :)

For your information, to explain out the points:

Validation.
Our CiviCRM project was put on ice, so when I came back to it (two weeks ago), I realised that a major overhaul was needed. I used Drush Make to create a fresh install of Drupal & Civi, latest releases (will post the Make file if anyone wants it). What we are looking for is someone to go over the installation with a comb. There is no data to worry about, I will clean it  :'(.
To make sure that our VPS is correctly configured (PHP.ini, Memcache, ftp, robots.txt and any other settings that would impact the use of Civi).
To check Drupal setup for Civi.
To validate the CiviCRM setup.
The validation process is going to be a reasonably quick process, and it's about getting a different pair of eyes on the project.

Direct Debit & Gift Aid Extensions
The Charity is a UK only charity, we need UK Direct Debit and Gift Aid functionality on our site. SEPA Direct Debits are of little use to us.

Simplification of the GUI
Role specific menus, forms and workflows. Reducing the standard CiviCRM GUI menus for different access roles. Suppressing menu items or fields based on Drupal Role. This is just for the backend for the moment. It should involve no changes to core, it should be Roles or templates work.

Set up of templates including importing stationary styles
Our stationary style is (thankfully) quite simple, we have some proprietary fonts, but there are Google Fonts that are close enough. It would just be a process of matching up the templates with the style.

Hi CuriousGeorge,

Just to clarify, with regard to the Direct Debit & Gift Aid extensions - is the aim to have the facility for a user to make a donation through the external site, or literally just to configure it so that someone else later can do that? What I'm trying to gauge here is how much front end work there is on top of the configuration).
If you like empowering charities in a free and open way, then you're going to love Civi.

Thanks JohnFF.

The aim of the facility is to process Direct Debit membership renewals and donations that already exist. We're aware that there is an extension that already exists for Direct Debit recording in CiviCRM, it would be a process of configuring that for in house use.

Making DDs available for online renewals/donations may be a future project.
Thanks!
