'Cart' checkout form - 2 entries for email? why repeat reg. info?

I tried the cart checkout (thanks for that feature!) at home and on the demo (see attached screenshot), why ask for email 2x?  I know how to 'get rid of' the 2nd phone number in the cart checkout template (the form block used already has registrant first, last name and phone number), just wondered why it is there?

And if someone puts 2 events in their 'cart', why ask for their registration info (name & email) again, since it is their cart? If they want to add another participant, they can.  I think users would be slightly annoyed to put in their name & email for each item/event in the cart.
Thanks!  If this is a bug/unintended feature, I can submit a patch/fix.

Never mind I asked about this before - Cart is unsupported code (it's a contrib), I will just submit a patch when I fix it according to my lights
