CiviCRM 2.1 stability
June 09, 2008, 03:11:42 am
I'm about to start development and it would be really nice to do it on Drupal 6 (To push back the end-of-life since any site created on Drupal 5 will have an EOL of less than a year).  I'm just wondering what the current stability of HEAD is.  For the next week or so I'll just be using the API to import core and contribution data.  Then in about a week or two I'll be setting up CiviContribute and CiviMail.  Would this be feasible with HEAD right now?

Most functionality is quite stable IMHO. However there may be a few more schema tweaks in the coming weeks in the core objects and the addition of some objects for the Pledgebank component. This means you'll have to run bin/setup.sh to rebuild the DB / DAO's occassionally. Also, you may get prompted to rebuild the menu (there's a URL that does this).

We haven't yet released a downloadable version of 2.1. A downloadable alpha release is currently scheduled for mid-August (roadmap is here: http://wiki.civicrm.org/confluence/display/CRM/CiviCRM+v2.1).

If you're a developer - you can checkout the trunk codebase from our SVN repository. Some instructions for installing / running a site from SVN are here:
