Connection Error in manage extensions
March 13, 2015, 02:02:09 am
Hello everyone, I experienced an issue management page extensions CiviCRM. I need to install an extension on a Linux machine with Joomla 2.5 / CiviCRM 4.4.2.

On this page, along with the list of extensions (in my case, the extension to be installed) also appear the following messages:

1) Connection Error:
The public CiviCRM extensions directory at https://civicrm.org/extdir/ver=4.4.2|cms=Joomla could not be contacted - please check your webserver can make external HTTP requests or contact CiviCRM team on CiviCRM forum.

2) No Extensions Available for this Version
There are currently no extensions on the CiviCRM public extension directory Which are compatible with version 4.4.2 (requested extensions from here). If you want to install an extension Which is not marked as compatible, you may be Able to download and install extensions manually (Depending on access to your web server).

The first message that interests me more resolve, she appeared only in linux environment, while on windows I have never had a similar problem. It can be a problem of blocked ports or simply an attempt to contact a link incorrect or no longer exists?
If I ignore these messages and try to install the extension, however, I will have problems in Joomla / CiviCRM?

Thank you in advance.

Hi,

It might have been a temporary issue on civicrm.org too. Does it still happen now?

Hello, continues to signal me that error. I tried to install the extension and still has not given me any problems, so I can ignore it.

It remains only the curiosity to understand the reason for this error.

Bye.

I'll blame the ghost in the machine for that one ;)
