Recent Items in Wordpress

Hi all.

I have recently migrated data from an old and mostly broken Drupal installation of CiviCRM to a shiny new Wordpress installation.  It's great, loving it, except for one thing. Is there any way to show the 'Recent Items' in Wordpress?

In Drupal, you have a 'Recent Items' block on the left hand side, and it displays contacts that you had been recently editing or viewing.  This is still there in the current Drupal demo, though not in the Wordpress demo.

Obviously Wordpress doesn't have the same kind of blocks, but I was wondering if I'm just missing something and there is a way of having the recent items in it?  Ideally it would be as a drop-down menu on the black CiviCRM menu ribbon at the top.

If it's non-trivial, and needs a decent hack, it'll probably be beyond my ability to do.

Agree that the recent items would be very nice to have in WP, but it's not currently implemented.

Ok, thanks Coleman. Would be nice, yes. Was mainly wondering if I was missing something obvious!

In Joomla it's done by hard-coding a few blocks (recent items, create new, and search iirc) onto the left side of the main CiviCRM template.
Not saying that's the right way to do it, but better than nothing.
