Group Tab on Contact does not return associated groups

Hi,

Running Joomla 3.4 and Civi 4.5.8.  When clicking on the "Groups" tab on an individual contact, I get the civicrm logo spinning for about one minute, then get a CiviCRM message in right corner (not browser message) "Network Error:  Unable to reach the server. Please refresh this page in your browser and try again." .

This also occurred on v4.5.3, and is why I upgraded to v4.5.8, since I had seen a post about issues with Groups.

All other tabs for the contact work, and if I edit the contact, under "Tags and Groups", the groups show up, and I can add or delete the groups without issue.

Any advice?
