Civi CRM not sending scheduled mail

Hi, Please excuse me if this has been posted before, but I couldn't find a solution with my specific situation.
I have just set civicrm up on my site. I have been testing civimail. I have the mailer sending test emails ok. Setting up scheduled emails seems to go ok, but the emails do not send. There is no error message, they just sit in the message list marked as "scheduled", but do not send. I have the scheduled mailings turned on and cron is running, it just doesn't seem to include the mails. If I manually run the scheduled job then the emails send, but they do not send automatically.

Can anyone offer some advice or a good post for a solution.

What does the scheduled job log say?

Are other schedule jobs firing OK?

Hi thanks for the reply.
I have checked and there is only 1 item in the job log from when I ran the job manually.
None of the other jobs appear to have run either.
I am guessing that cron is not firing the CiviCRM jobs. I am going to try installing the CiviCRM cron module for drupal, which is not currently installed.

There is no module necessary for CiviCRM's cron. Can you tell us what method you are using to execute the cron and a few details?
