Improving Location Types
March 23, 2015, 02:38:29 pm
It's been quite a long time i use CiviCRM and i always found it confusing the way location types is used :

* The same locations are used for all contact types although Home doesn't make sense for Organization and Primary is not very useful for Individual.

* The same locations are used for Email, Phone and Address. It's seems to be a good feature if we could have the information visually grouped by location type but it's not the case. As it is separate, I often find that it could be better to just remove location type in some context.

* Why is there a Billing and Primary location type and a billing and primary checkboxes... is it some legacy feature ? Anyway, it's rather confusing and i like better the checkboxes because my home or work address can be the billing one and i don't want to create a duplicate.

Any thoughts ?
