Trouble Setting the Timezone

The timezone on my civi install is seven hours ahead of me. I've tried setting the server timezone to US/Los_Angeles in the .htaccess file and when I go to my phpinfo.php, it displays that as the date, but civi still thinks that it's seven hours later than where I am. What am I doing wrong?

Hi,

First thing I would verify is the WordPress Time Zone Setting.   Go to the WP admin, under Settinngs -> General you will see Timezone.   Set that to America\Los_Angeles (type Los Angeles and it should come up) save and that should work things out for you.

Thanks! I had set the timezone using -7 UTC and it had no effect. I'll make a note to use "Los Angeles" from now on

This time of year (DST in US and not in Europe) UTC offsets fail.

I find that setting the timezone to the php region (America/New_York etc) works for me.   Glad it worked.
