For those of us who are grant funding depended, what is the current workflow for managing grants -

Grants Available (with linked individuals, focus priorities, and application periods with a tickler for upcomming deadlines),
Application Process (draft, funder communications, final grant, board approval, sent, received, declined/funded)?
Post Application (Grant report deadlines, donor communications, income tracking, fund matching, PR &recognition activities)
Document tracking (storehouse of documents used for all of the above)

I only have 15 some odd grants to track and i'm at my limit keeping it all in my head. Surely some others have similar needs - do you do it inside Civi? If so how? If Not, then what system do you use?

i have set up CiviCase for clients to use for this. With the new UI on 4.6 that lets you build Case systems without needing to edit the XML things have become a lot easier.

Think through which of your steps should be a specific Activity Type. Create that and then add it to the Case. Maybe the screengrab will give you an idea from what we used in one situaton
