Hi,

Civi 4.6/WP 4.1.1

Our Civi setup uses Households rather than Individuals contact type since we don't always know which person in the household is making the donation AND we want to account for all donations by an entire household in our reporting.

Problem: I've noticed that one can't merge a contribution made by an Individual (seems to be the default) with a Household, so my thought was to set up a new profile based on a Household.

When creating a new Contribution Page, the Profile I setup for a household address does not show up in the dropdown/select in the Include Profiles section. The Profile itself has boxes checked for Standalone Form and Is Active.

Am I missing something here?

Hi - not sure if this is 'an' answer (though not yet a solution). I think the idea you are after is to be able to use the 'on behalf of' feature that is available on Contribution pages. Currently it only works for Organisations. It may not take much to have this work for Households too - though there may be extra work involved so that the Household Profile can also show. But I think that might be the direction you need to look in. Hope that is helpful

Thanks. I'll look into that.

I've also considered just changing the Households over to Individuals with phpMySQL, moving some data between fields in the process. At least I can customize the greetings for email and print media to include both spouses. That's probably sufficient.
