Registration Page Error - Cookies Needed
April 06, 2015, 08:03:23 am
This error started showing up this morning:
Sorry but we are not able to provide this at the moment.
We can't load the requested web page. This page requires cookies to be enabled in your browser settings. Please check this setting and enable cookies (if they are not enabled). Then try again. If this error persists, contact the site adminstrator for assistance.

Site Administrators: This error may indicate that users are accessing this page using a domain or URL other than the configured Base URL. EXAMPLE: Base URL is http://example.org, but some users are accessing the page via http://www.example.org or a domain alias like http://myotherexample.org.

Error type: Could not find a valid session key.

Return to home page.
It has never happened before - I heard from 3 people trying to register for our programs. I tried it myself and cannot register.

Can anyone guide me? I am a novice user. Thank you for any assistance

Here's some good places to start:

1. Go into CiviCRM > Administer > System Settings > Cleanup Caches and Update Paths ... and click the "Clear Cache" button

2. Clear your own browser cache and restart your computer
http://www.wikihow.com/Clear-Your-Browser%27s-Cache

Confirm that you can now register.  If you can, instruct your people to do step #2 as well.

If that doesn't work, try examining the paths as instructed in the error with the 'www' or without in the link.  Does it work one way but not the other.
Try CiviTeacher: the online video tutorial CiviCRM learning library.

Thank you. I tried clearing the cache and restarting - that didn't work. When I put in https://www. and my web address I get a Notice "This Connection is Untrusted" - if I just use the www. it gets to the site - but it still will not accept a credit card. I checked that the credit card processor (PayPal) is still valid/connected - and it is. Not sure what to do next. Appreciate your responding.

I'm having the same issue, I think.

I tried with different url's www. or just plain and no difference.

The only time I can get it to work is when I'm logged in as administrator. I don't have any other accounts to test with. I need it to work with anonymous but it seems like this is a strange permission issue that just started happening and I can't pin down.

winsalt: did you find a solution?

it was a missing UID 0 (anonymous user) in the Drupal DB.

Found the solution here:
http://forum.civicrm.org/index.php/topic,23384.msg98313.html#msg98313

did this to restore it:
