Currently certain properties of recurring contributions can be edited but only if they are not linked to a recurring membership. The allowed properties are currently the amount and the number of installments.

We would like to remove the restriction on editing recurring contributions linked to memberships. I am trying to estimate this for a client.

As far as I can tell the only extra work for allowing the amount of a recurring membership contribution to be edited is to validate that the new amount is above the minimum required amount for that membership type (in PostProcess). It is possible that adding the option to set the new amount using a price set would be desirable. However, this could also be the case with regular contributions and is not provided for currently. I would consider that a separate issue.

We would also like to allow the option to change the "Next Scheduled Contribution date" on all recurring contributions, memberships or not. The use case is that the donor calls the admin saying that they now prefer the 25th of the month instead of the 28th for whatever reason. For example the donor now receives their paycheck on a different day. I am not sure but this is something that may need support for at the processor level. For example payment processors could have an option to indicate support with a new method "updateSubscriptionDate".

For recurring contributions linked to memberships there are some additional considerations because the next scheduled contribution date should be the same as the membership end date. It might be better to make this change by way of editing the membership and changing the end date. Then the system could prompt the user, "Would you like to update the scheduled contribution date?".

Before I submit a feature request and try to give the client an estimate I was wondering if there is anything I am missing here in terms of possible complications?
