After upgrade to 4.6 (Joomla 3.4.1) Event Participants List report is blank page
April 08, 2015, 08:29:11 pm
After my upgrade, which upgraded without an issue, when I try to run the Event Participants List report it is giving me a black page. All other event reports are working. The report was working in 4.5.8. Any ideas on what might be the issue?

It seems to work on the demo site.
Do you perhaps have an extension or some custom code on your site that pertains to that report? Try disabling it as a test.

thank you for the reply. I have Civicrm on 2 separate sites running the same versions of Joomla 3.4.1 and noticed the event participant list report works on th other site. I rolled back civicrm on the broken site to 4.5.8 and the form works again. Very strange indeed. If I knew what files to copy over I could try to replace all of the files related to that report. Normally this would not be a big issue other than we are in the middle of registration for a conference and use that report quite often. Thanks for any advice.

Can you be more specific?

Copy from where to where? Not sure I understand this plan. I had asked:

What version of Civi is that site running?
4.6

Do you perhaps have an extension or some custom code on your site that pertains to that report?
Both sites have had the latest extended reports installed and immediately removed since they are not compatible with 4.5.8. As far as I know this does not replace any core files when installed.

Copy from where to where? Not sure I understand this plan.
I was contemplating copying the events reports from the working site to the non-working site since they are both 4.6 to see if this would fix the issue.
thank you.

ok, after further looking it is also broke on the second install of 4.6. I can roll back to 4.5.8 and it works fine.
so, I have 2 upgrades on 2 separate systems with event participant list report not working. Just a blank screen. No error messages.

I'm experiencing this same problem. With civiCRM 4.6 installed on my system running Joomla 3.4.1, I get a blank page when I try to do an event participant search. Rolling back to 4.5.8 fixes the issue.

I understand that rolling back to 4.5 is expedient for you, but it would be great for all concerned if we get this fixed in 4.6.
Could you both please:
  • Upgrade to 4.6
  • Enable Civi's debug and backtrace
  • Run the reports again and let me know what error messages you see
  • If not there, check your server logs for error messages

ok, I really need to get this working, so rolling back was just for troubleshooting. Also, PREVIEW REPORT button also shows a blank screen.
There are no errors in my log file for civicrm (with debug and backtrace turned on) and also no errors on the server error log file.
What I did find is this in 4.6.2:
First off, Attendee List and Event Participants List are the same report.
In the civicrm_report_instance table in the database, the Attendee List report. The form_values field shows the issue. If I copy the form_values from the Attendee List and paste them into the Event Participants List that report will work.
Comparing the Event Participants List and the Attendee List form_values field, they are not the same.
See below:

Attendee List: CIVICRM_REPORT_INSTANCE table, Form_values field:
a:27:{s:6:"fields";a:4:{s:9:"sort_name";s:1:"1";s:8:"event_id";s:1:"1";s:9:"status_id";s:1:"1";s:7:"role_id";s:1:"1";}s:12:"sort_name_op";s:3:"has";s:15:"sort_name_value";s:0:"";s:8:"email_op";s:3:"has";s:11:"email_value";s:0:"";s:11:"event_id_op";s:2:"in";s:14:"event_id_value";a:0:{}s:6:"sid_op";s:2:"in";s:9:"sid_value";a:0:{}s:6:"rid_op";s:2:"in";s:9:"rid_value";a:0:{}s:34:"participant_register_date_relative";s:1:"0";s:30:"participant_register_date_from";s:0:"";s:28:"participant_register_date_to";s:0:"";s:6:"eid_op";s:2:"in";s:9:"eid_value";a:0:{}s:11:"custom_4_op";s:2:"in";s:14:"custom_4_value";a:0:{}s:16:"blank_column_end";s:0:"";s:11:"description";s:44:"Provides lists of participants for an event.";s:13:"email_subject";s:0:"";s:8:"email_to";s:0:"";s:8:"email_cc";s:0:"";s:10:"permission";s:16:"access CiviEvent";s:6:"groups";s:0:"";s:7:"options";N;s:9:"domain_id";i:1;}

So it appears this is where the problems exist. I am not sure where to go from here.

Also, in trying to create a new report from a template the PREVIEW REPORT button does not work which prevents you from saving the new report.
