Summary Fields Extension and CiviCRM 4.6.2
April 24, 2015, 01:30:05 pm
I just upgraded to 4.6.2 and I'd like to use the Summary Fields Extension.  However, its listing doesn't show it supporting 4.6.  Does this mean it will not work with 4.6 or does it mean it hasn't been tested?  If the later, I have a test installation ready to go and I'd give it a try.  I hate to waste my time if it was known to not work with 4.6.

I tested the Summary Fields Extension under 4.5 and liked what I saw.  I'd like to move it into production.

It could be both or one of the reason for not working in 4.6. It might also be possible that extension developer is working on upgrade to 4.6.

I would suggest directly getting in touch with the extension developer.

In most cases an extension marked with 4.5 compatibility will also work with 4.6, and chances are the extension maintainer just hasn't gotten 'round to updating the version compatibility.
I suggest you try it.

I installed it and briefly tested it.  It works and appears to not break anything.  I want to test it more before more it into production.  My understanding is that it mods the DB which makes me nervous and careful.

Could you file an issue with them about it, saying that your initial testing looks good and asking if they are ready to mark it as 4.6 compatible?

I filled out a contact form on the Progressive Technology Project website.  I referenced this post and ask if they were ready to mark it as 4.6 compatible.
