Emailing appeals to groups

Hi

We have quite a few groups in Civi. Some contacts are in multiple groups.

How do I send out bulk emails and avoid people receiving the email more than once...i.e if we email each group at a time - will Civimial pick up somone who has already been sent the appeal/email

There should be an option to exclude recipients of previous mailings
