Import yes/no validation fails
June 12, 2008, 02:01:15 am
Hi all,

I was wondering if any one was having the same 'error' as me. I was importing some users from a old civicrm install to a new install of civicrm 2.0.4. Every thing seems to work fine, in the end it says that it completed the import, but no users are imported. No error.

The problem was a yes/no radio button custom field. the export from my old civicrm exported yes or no. but this should have been 0 or 1.
Easy to fix, but this did not show up in the data validation as wrong data

regards
Rens

Hi,

I have the same "problem" with import, where the accepted values for any given type are a hit and miss. Eg I never know for the gender if it has to be "M","Mr","Man" or for the country if it is "United Kingdom, Great Britain, UK" (for ref, that's GB, the official ISO code)

Okay, the situation is a little bit worse than this because there is asymmetry in the export and import of contacts.

I do an export of data with the fields I would like to import. The custom boolean fields are exported as "Yes" or empty. This same exported file cannot be imported. The "Yes" values must be 1.
