after reading do, still need (desperate!) help with ACLs in Drupal/CiviCRM

I am struggling a bit here with permissions/ACL.  I have set up anonymous users in DRUPAL with:
- make online contributions
- profile listings and forms
- register for events
- access all custom data

authenticated users have the same PLUS "access uploaded files".  Those are the only two roles in DRUPAL.

In CiviCRM, (Home › CiviCRM › Access Control) I let EVERYONE view events.  I let Administrators:
Edit: Group
Edit: Event
Edit: Profile
Edit: Custom Group

When I go to the site without logging in, I see the following menus:
Username:
Password:
Create new account
Request new password

When I log in under a name I allowed as administrator, I see "My account" and "Log out". None of the CiviCRM management tools.

What have I done wrong to not allow anonymous users to see events and register for them as well as allowing the admin to do her job?

Many thanks since I have been racking my brain on this (yes, I have read the documentation).

Based on your stated requirements (so far) - you do not need CiviCRM ACLs at all, so you should probably remove them for now.

Your "admin" people needs a separate Drupal role (create "CiviCRM Admin" or similar role name) and give them all the CiviCRM permissions.

For your "constituents" (whether anonymous or authenticated) - you will need to create Drupal "content" which has links to any Online Contribution pages, Events and/or Profiles you want to "promote". This "content" can be in Drupal blocks, navigation items and or simply buttons and graphics on any page or in your theme areas ... e.g. "Click here to Donate" etc.

Thanks Dave.  Most helpful.

How do I create a drupal content with CIVICRM content like a calendar, an event, membership registration?
