JIRA: Label "SprintCandidate"
July 09, 2015, 06:30:19 pm
In JIRA, we used to have a custom field which flagged issues as "sprint" (yes/no). This field seems to have disappeared. I think it's a good idea to flag issues which are suitable for new volunteers in a sprint environment -- some folks come to a sprint without a big agenda, and it's good for these tasks to be searchable/browsable.

The old field was a little confusing/imprecise for me, so I'm not trying to restore it exactly. Instead, I've started marking some of my issues with these values:

 * Label: SprintCandidate
 * Fix: Future Version

These issues are good ideas, and they should be doable with 1-10hr work (perhaps with a few tips/pointers), but to date no one has had time/resources/capacity for them, so they're not scheduled for any particular release. It would be most correct to flag them as "Unassigned", but I've been leaving the assignee value in place -- the assignee is a good point-of-contact for discussion/mentoring.
