Submit Credit Card Contribution page - can it be edited?
June 14, 2008, 10:38:20 am
On the VIEW CONTACT PAGE, under the CONTRIBUTIONS TAB, selecting SUBMIT CREDIT CARD CONTRIBUTION, can this page be edited?  When I enter a member who is paid by someone else their name in their record gets replaced by the payee.  I originally thought the payee info would just be under the Billing Address but apparently it changes the Member name as well.  Is this a bug?  Can I add a new profile to this section like on the Contribution pages?  We are still using 1.9.13019, haven't upgraded yet.

We don't have a place to store a separate "Billing Name", and there's no way to add a profile to this form. We have a similar problem with some online contribution pages when the processor requires billing name - and we wind up overwriting the contact name if it's an existing contact and they have a different name on the credit card.

We're looking at adding a partial fix for this in 2.1 - where we don't overwrite the contact name with billing name unless the contact name is empty. This will prevent the overwriting problem. I'll update this thread with an issue link once it's entered.

We might eventually want to store billing names separately - but normally that's done in systems that also store / persist credit card info - which we probably won't ever do.
