Pay later WITHOUT asking for credit card?
May 26, 2008, 03:02:35 pm
Looking at managing paid events with online registration (2.0.3) WITHOUT having online payments - pay later ONLY.

I am able to get a working online registration page with a working 'Pay Later' checkbox--however, the page still asks for a credit card, which is really going to freak out my users (and my boss). By reading this thread, looks like I have to wait for 2.1 in order to pay later without being asked for a credit card? Is this true?

Thanks for the best CRM EVER!

Pay later WITHOUT asking for credit card?

Our techie thought it wouldn't be too hard to make the Pay Later checkbox required - so if you set up Dummy Payment processor people would never get to it because if they failed to select PAY LATER regardless of how large you write it, then the 'required' field action will cause them to have to tick it. May work.

Thanks Peter. How would I try this? How do I make the Dummy Credit Card fields NEVER display to users?

Pay later WITHOUT asking for credit card?

That feature is coming in 2.1, it has already been fixed in trunk: http://issues.civicrm.org/jira/browse/CRM-2661

You can help by testing it out on sandbox: http://sandbox.civicrm.org/

I'm pretty sure the dummy payment processor does not work with live transactions. The payment processor type controls whether the fields are shown or not, so you'll need to do some amount of hacking there.
