Import problems, says it is successful but does not import
June 16, 2008, 08:50:09 am
I am running 1.9.12432

Import has worked successfully for me before, but I haven't tried it in about 6 months.  This week I get the following behavior:

It says it is importing, but does not do so, and does not update records
Records are not tagged

If I do the SAME file with only 5 new (not updated) records in it, it DOES import them, says it is tagging them, and actually tags them.

It does not matter if i have a "do not import" field in there or not
It does not matter if I have a custom field in there or not
It does not matter if i try a new tag or an existing tag or if i try a group instead.

This is a list of about 250 contacts that attended an event that used a different registration system. Most of them are probably in the db already, but i need to tag them all and create new ones for the ones that are not in the db already.

Help would be much appreciated on this, i've been banging my head on it and we'd really like to be able to send a follow up email to these folks via civimail.

Can you try to replicate this on demo. Its bit hard for us to support v1.9. Also there have been lot of changes to import since v1.9.

Hi,

I had issues that might be similar to that on a 2.0.

I haven't been able to pinpoint and isolate what exactly was wrong, but with your update vs. new, you might have identified the issue. Definitely worthwhile trying on the demo, the problem you experience might be able to be reproduced on 2.0
