Used for Sales
September 26, 2015, 10:48:41 am
Hi

Firstly sorry if I have placed this on the incorrect forum.
Has anyone used Civicrm for Sales Process? We sell Telecoms Products and are wondering -
1) If it will be suitable for these sales.
2) Can we use the Software so that each of our partners can look at their own sales?
3) Which would we use for our accounts on this - either Contributions or memberships?
4) Can use use customisation on this ?
Any tips or help you can give would be gratefully appreciated as we have looked at so many !

Kind Regards
Paul Marks

Hi Paul - most discussions are happening over on StackExchange now (big red link top left)

CiviCRM was built with non-profits in mind. But it gets used in a multitude of ways. I think to answer you question you really need to lay out your scenarios a bit more thoroughly

But yes you can use Price Sets and Contributions to record 'sales'
Yes there are ways to provide 'access control' so that X can only see their 'own' data
Customisations? well it is open source so you can build whatever you like and will probably find you get a lot of support from the community if you are building something that others see the value of to the community, and you then publish as an extension

You may find that spending a bit of money with a Professional provider working through your scenarios could save you a lot of time down the track
