Hi everyone
I am interesting in contributing code to civiCRM. I have been learning how to program in PHP for a while now and want to start putting my knowledge of PHP into practice.

Can someone here with experience help me on how to get started?

Thanks
Tahirih Natang

Hi Thyr_Nat,

It's great to hear you're interested in helping out. I've made a few contributions, and I'm really proud!

Probably the best way to learn about coding with Civi is to get stuck in. You can either fix bugs/add features in the core code, or write an extension!

Either way, the best thing to do would be to attend a spring, pitch in, and help out!

Take a look at issues.civicrm.org to see if there's a small issue you'd like to tackle.

You can also contact members of the core team on the IRC channel to ask to be assigned a specific bug/role.
