I have recently installed CiviCRM and began by importing individuals and organizations.

Some of the organizations have the same primary email address as an individual.

I have created an event with online registration.

When a online registration is received the organization record with this email address is 'replaced' by a new individual record with the name being the registration email address. I presume in fact that the organization record is being overwritten, as its other data (eg address) is still present. However, the record is now an individual record NOT an organization record.

The individual record with the registration email is untouched.

Have I missed something?

I've had play in the sandbox & cannot reproduce the issue.

I'll work around the problem till the next update
