Not able to create new Contact on German installation of 4.7

Dear CiviTeam,

I am a CiviCRM Newbie, please forgive me if this might not be related at all to 4.7Beta but rather to a Newbie mistake. I just setup a clean 4.7 installation with German Language on Wordpress 4.4.1. I have not created the sample data in the DB.

1st obersvation, in the installer it was not possible to change the language. As the language dropdown always changed back after the page was reloaded. I somehow managed to trick this by interrupting the page reload. Luckily after the install I had discovered that everything was setup fine and in German except the Contact Reports which are still labeled in English. e.g. Constituent Summary

So far so good. But the real issue is that I cannot create new contacts. When clicking on Contact->New Person im taken to the URL
http://www.kadeutsch.org/wp-admin/admin.php?page=CiviCRM&q=civicrm%2Fcontact%2Fadd&reset=1&ct=Individual

and I get an error Message : The field 'präfix' doesn't exist.

Is this a wrong configuration on my side or a Beta Bug ? btw, creating Houshold or Organisations works, only Person has this issue.

Hi Alain.

I have never seen this particular error before, but I remember having a lot of similar issues when installing the localised version right away. What we do now is to install the English version and change the localisation later on, even though that means changing some values manually.

Could your problem be related to this? Did you tell the installer to install the German version?

Hello!

I had the same problem! Maybe because of an very long history of using CiviCRM, I had some fields renamed to german. And they where renamed to german inside the db too.

I had to change them from "Präfix" back to "Prefix" in the database too!

I think it was inside the table "civicrm_option_value", where I had to change the in the column "label" a value from "Präfix" to "Prefix".

Ich musste damals eine übersetzte Bezeichnung in der Datenbank ändern. Ich hab gerade mal in meinem DB-Backup von damals gesucht, und bin mir ziemlich sicher, ich hab in der Tabelle "civicrm_option_value" in der Spalte "label" einen Wert von "Präfix" auf "Prefix" ändern müssen!

Interesting...  Can someone confirm that this doesn't happen with a fresh install in English that is later switched to German? That would narrow it down to the SQL translation process...

Hi,

Thanks for the replies. I can definitively reproduce this error on my installation. It does not occur when installing english and later switching to German. Please note I am on Beta6, as SF is currently down, I could not test Beta7

The german installation was made from the following URL
/wp-admin/admin.php?page=civicrm-install&seedLanguage=de_DE

Interesting note : the language after installation was english, but the error still occured.

@Tiggr, could you explain what needs to renamed in table civicrm_option_value ? I have a record Id=145 with Label=Präfix and value=Prefix this looks correct to me.

@endres, what values do I need to change and where if switching localisation later? is this documented somewhere?

will be trying with Beta7 again tomorrow. But probably I will just start from a english installation in this case.

Hi!

This is an exerpt from the database dump I did during my update:

(853, 16, 'Präfix', '12', 'Prefix', NULL, 2, NULL, 12, NULL, 0, 0, 1, NULL, NULL, NULL),
...
After changing 'Präfix' to 'Prefix', all worked fine for me!

This entry may correspond to your entry "145", please try to change the the label to to "Prefix".

Hi Tiggr,

Thanks thats seems to solve it. After changing the label of Präfix, I had to change First Name, Middlename and Last Name. That seems to have fixed it.

But then I tested again with Beta7, now that sourceforge is back. And ...... it works! So it seems that bug was fixed in 4.7B7.
