After installing German language files, did you switch the language in CiviCRM Admin -> Global Settings -> Localisation? Does German show up in language selector?

Thx,
michau

If the de_DE shows up in the locale selector, it means you extracted it into the right place, so we should be all right here. Just for order, it should be extracted to l10n/ directory in CiviCRM home.

Having the fields that you mentioned empty is quite worrisome - did you load civicrm-data.mysql or civicrm-data.de_DE.mysl at install time?

Thx,
michau

hi all,

i have tried to install the german localization as described in the docu here: http://wiki.civicrm.org/confluence/display/CRMDOC/CiviCRM+Localisation#CiviCRMLocalisation-UserLanguage%28Translations%29

now i am able to select "Default Currency" and "Monetary Locale" in eur and german but not the "Default Language". There german is listed, but if i select and save it, it goes back to english us.

in the docu nothing is mentioned about the mysql file. Nethertheless i have put it into the /administrator/components/com_civicrm/civicrm/sql/ folder, too. Nothing changed.

what i have done wrong?
please please help....

thanks a lot!

There is a known issue with CiviCRM 3.0 - you need to set Joomla UI language first and CiviCRM will inherit these settings. More information in this thread:
